What Are the Early Pregnancy Symptoms?

Do you think you’re pregnant but aren’t quite sure? We know this time can seem intimidating, but you are not alone.

Here are some early pregnancy symptoms to help determine if you could be experiencing a potential pregnancy. The only way to be sure you’re pregnant and that your pregnancy is healthy is through pregnancy testing and an ultrasound. We can help.

Early Pregnancy Symptoms

The Mayo Clinic shares common early pregnancy symptoms to look out for if you think you could be pregnant. These include the following:

A Missed Period

A missed period could be a clear sign you’re pregnant and is the most common symptom.

If you experience irregular periods, it’s even more challenging to know for sure if you’re pregnant. For accurate results with irregular periods, try waiting 36 days after your last menstrual period or four weeks after you had sex to take a pregnancy test.

Nausea (With or Without Vomiting)

Both nausea and vomiting could be a sign of pregnancy. These signs are normal in early pregnancy because of drastic hormonal changes.

Increased Urination

Do you have to use the bathroom more frequently than normal? The amount of blood in your body increases during pregnancy, causing your kidneys to process extra fluid and more urine in your bladder.

Tender, Swollen Breasts

Tender and swollen breasts are caused by hormonal changes, like how you may feel during your period. The area around your nipples (areolas) may also darken and enlarge.

Fatigue

Feeling extremely tired all the time? Fatigue is a common pregnancy symptom, and it could be due to progesterone levels rising quickly during early pregnancy.
